My website is inspired by the novel The Voyage of Life and the paintings Voyage of Life, which reside in the National Museum of Art. In my career, I made several trips to Washington, D.C. When I visited the museum and viewed the paintings, I was struck by how well they reflected the stages of our lives.
Anyone looking back on their experiences and the portrayal of paintings will feel we live four different lives–childhood, youth, manhood, and old age. This inspires my novels and screenplays that revolve around life, love, struggles, and triumphs. My platform offers information about the stories, background, research, and discussion and invites comments.

Hollywood is great at making war seem so simple; soldiers kill or are killed. It makes the viewer believe that people kill each other because they are told that it is kill or be killed. According to research cited in the book on killing, The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Dave Grossman, only 15-20 percent of the soldiers fired at the enemy in WWII.
And for soldiers who have an aversion to killing, the PTSD effects are more profound. Studies have demonstrated that the more time soldiers are in combat, the more likely they can become psychiatric casualties.
“When we embrace our shadow, we become whole.”
Luke and Elizabeth were living the dream, and Christmas was just twelve days away. Luke’s day started out so well; everyone was in the Christmas spirit, important decisions had been made, and this Christmas was going to be special. However, things take an unexpected turn when Luke loses his job the same day, and before they can talk, she receives a call and rushes to be with her dying mother.
Left alone feeling deserted, Luke faces thoughts of murder and suicide and fears he is responsible for the hit-and-run death of a neighbor. Drunk and drugged, he staggers to a near-death fall, and when he awakens the next morning, he sees his shadow, and through their conversations, the whys and hows of his life are revealed.
The Attic is an emotional story about facing adversity and overcoming loss. When Byron Kelly’s wife dies, he faces assault charges and a lawsuit. He flees to Chicago and takes up a new identity. He takes a low lever computer support job with an international investment banking company where he discovers the company’s CEO is embezzling over 26 million dollars.
A LOVE DIVIDED BY TIME is the suspenseful story of ALLIE and FORREST who believe they were together in a previous life. Divided by death at the hands of a dangerous psychopath the story is about the efforts of “the one left behind” to: seek justice, be a good father, and be reunited with his beloved. Scientists don’t believe in miracles, but Allie and Forrest do. They’re convinced love is more powerful than gravity.
Voyage of Life is a story about a man’s life, beginning with the period after WWII, continuing through the coming-of-age sixties, the triumphs and tragedies of manhood, and finding peace and resolution in old age. The story has unfolding mysteries around losing a father, mother, wife, son, and friends and Sean’s perseverance in life and, in the end, reuniting with his first love.
The story is told as Robert Cole’s Voyage of Life paintings are portrayed by the women he loves; childhood, youth, manhood, and old age. The paintings are a metaphor for Sean’s life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood turn turbulent in youth, and then early in manhood, the rocky shores of manhood open to a promising sky of old age when he believes that his one true love left him for another man.
“I found Aaron’s War to be a thought-provoking novel that discusses the far-reaching war effects. I explored the complexities of religion, war, identity, and devotion in the book and gained a deeper understanding of the psychological toll of combat and the impact of faith on one’s beliefs and actions.”
“A realistic and unglamorous approach of WWII and consequences of war on soldiers as well on family and friends.”
“A Love Divided By Time is a unique and thrilling novel that held my attention from start to finish. The plot twists and turns are masterfully done, and the characters are vivid and well-drawn. The book is romantic and suspenseful, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery and a great love story.”
