Forrest and Allie believed they found love in a previous life and being born again was a game of hide and seek to find each other in plain sight, seeking their better halves, united and whole. When tragedy strikes, Forrest makes a pact to find her killer, raise their daughter and find peace by joining her in the ever after.

A Love Divided By Time is one part The Notebook, one part suspenseful psychopath story, and one part Somewhere in Time.

AARON's WAR

A Novel of War and Devotion

Hollywood is great at making war seem so simple; soldiers kill or are killed. It makes the viewer believe that people kill each other because they are told that it is kill or be killed. According to research cited in the book on killing, The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Dave Grossman, only 15-20 percent of the soldiers fired at the enemy in WWII.

According to research cited in the book on killing, The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Dave Grossman, only 15-20 percent of the soldiers fired at the enemy in WWII. And for soldiers who have an aversion to killing, the PTSD effects are more profound. Studies have demonstrated that the more time soldiers are in combat, the more likely they can become psychiatric casualties.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Aaron, the gentle soldier, is the son of Jewish immigrant parents. His religious conflicts grow as his platoon fights their way into the heart of Germany. The cities he passes through feature magnificent churches and synagogues; German soldiers carry bibles and even wear belts engraved with the words, 'Gott Mit Uns'–God with us. Melding with his aversion to killing are thoughts of killing men who worship the same God as his fellow soldiers and searching for answers about who his God is and why his marriage to a Christian woman is forbidden.

Aaron was named by his Jewish father and mother. Biblically, Aaron (Ahron) was the brother of Moses and the first High Priest. The Pentateuch, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, lays out the laws of Moses, and fifteen times the Lord speaks to Moses and Aaron. Aaron was known for loving peace and pursuing peace. He is also an Islamic patriarch, and the Quran refers to him as a prophet. The story of biblical Aaron resonates today as man overwhelms religion with interpretations or casts it aside. I found Aaron's appropriate to one of the story's messages about Aaron, a gentle soldier who was confused about his own religion in a war where Christians were killing Christians and Germans were attempting to eradicate the Jewish race.

THE OTHER HALF

When we embrace our shadow, we become whole, the imperfect becomes perfect. Our self emerges with our soul.

Deepak Chopra

ABOUT THE BOOK

Luke and Elizabeth were living the dream, and Christmas was just twelve days away. Luke's day started out so well; everyone was in the Christmas spirit, important decisions had been made, and this Christmas was going to be special. However, things take an unexpected turn when Luke loses his job the same day, and before they can talk, she receives a call and rushes to be with her dying mother.

Left alone feeling deserted, Luke faces thoughts of murder and suicide and fears he is responsible for the hit-and-run death of a neighbor. Drunk and drugged, he staggers to a near-death fall, and when he awakens the next morning, he sees his shadow, and through their conversations, the whys and hows of his life are revealed.

Deepak Chopra, M.D., author of The Shadow Effect, says, "Everyone has a Shadow. Once people hear about the shadow, the dark side of human nature, almost no one denies it exists. Every life has been touched by anger and fear. When we embrace our shadow, we become whole; the imperfect becomes perfect. Our self emerges with our soul."

VOYAGE OF LIFE

Voyage of Life is a story about a man's Life, beginning with the period after WWII, continuing through the coming-of-age sixties, the triumphs and tragedies of manhood, and finding peace and resolution in old age. The story has unfolding mysteries around losing a father, mother, wife, son, and friends and Sean's perseverance in Life and, in the end, reuniting with his first love.

ABOUT THE BOOK

As Sean Buchanan prepares to return to Des Moines, Iowa, to bury his ninety-year-old mother, he receives a letter from Madeline Brookhart, Maddy. She writes it is urgent they meet—she has something important to tell him. They agree to meet at the Art Center, where she is teaching a class on Robert Cole's masterpieces. It is there that a secret is revealed that she has kept since her youth.

The story is told as MADELINE BROOKHART, MADDY, a woman from SEAN BUCHANAN'S past, describes the Robert Cole Voyage of Life paintings: Childhood, Youth, Manhood, and Old Age. The paintings are a metaphor for Sean's Life—the verdant landscape and calm waters of childhood turn turbulent in youth, and the rocky shores of manhood open to a promising sky of old age.
