I recently used information about the Methuselah tree in Perfect Memories, the book I am working on. Hiking in the White Mountains, we saw Bristlecone Pine trees that looked like upright drift wood. Somewhere in the White Mountains is a tree named, Methuselah, estimated to be the world’s oldest known tree with an estimated age of 4,850 years, as old as the Egyptian pyramids and today witness to airplanes flying overhead.
There was an older tree in that area, named, Prometheus, was more than 4,862 years old when cut down by mistake in 1964 by a graduate student.
