Discovering who I am came a little slow.
I remember thinking I wanted to be one of those guys who could wear plaid shorts, with striped shirts. I thought there would be freedom in that, and confident that what I looked like had nothing to do with who I was.
I thought I wanted to start my life over after an automobile accident left me with a broken neck. After a two year recovery period, I traveled to Oregon to evaluate purchasing a hardware store in rogue River, Oregon, and also look for space to open a Nevada Bob’s Golf Store in Medford, Oregon, I bought the ugliest shirt ever. It was the worst color of green with little designs that maybe were intend to look like fish, or maybe leaves. I wore it for about two weeks, until it came to me, I was not that guy. And never wore it again and I left it in my closet for a couple of years.
I didn’t buy the hardware store in the Rogue River or open a golf shop in Medford, Oregon and ended up finishing my health care career in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

The image above of the Duck-billed Platypus is on my list of what I want to know when I get to heaven. What was God thinking?
The Duck-billed platypus has a beak like a duck, a tail like a beaver, webbed feet and thick fur. It is blind in the water so it uses electroreceptors in its duck-shaped bill for hunting underwater. It lays eggs like a reptile but nurses offspring with milk and has poisonous spurs in its hind legs for combat.
